Workshop Description

Adobe InDesign is a game-changing tool for photographers who want to create bold, professional publications that truly elevate their work. In this new online workshop, designed specifically for photographers, you explore how to use InDesign not just as software, but as a creative canvas. Led by designer and educator Cotton Miller, the course shows you how to craft layouts that feel clean, intentional, and visually striking. Whether you’re building a fine-art portfolio, self-publishing a photo book, or creating standout promotional materials for clients and galleries, this workshop gives you the skills and confidence to take your ideas from concept to polished print or digital presentation.

Through live demonstrations and personalized feedback, this four-session workshop brings the essentials of InDesign to life, helping you feel familiar in the workspace while making sense of the tools and panels that streamline your design process. You learn how to create and manage documents using Parent pages, grids, and guides to ensure precision and consistency. Text and typography take center stage as you explore text frames, styles, and ways to integrate typography seamlessly with imagery to enhance your visual narratives.

You also gain a strong understanding of image integration and management, learning techniques for placing, fitting, and linking images while ensuring the highest quality outputs. The course concludes with a focus on exporting and printing, giving you clear guidance on the best export settings for both digital and print mediums so that every project maintains its integrity across platforms.

Bring your own photographic projects to work on and leave the workshop with a polished, multi-page layout that feels truly your own—something you can keep refining and building on long after the sessions end. This workshop is perfect for photographers ready to take full control of how their work is presented and to unlock fresh, creative possibilities with Adobe InDesign.
